About Apollo Electric: Houston's Family-Owned Generator & Motor Shop Since 1963

Three generations of finding, building, rebuilding, and testing the equipment that keeps oilfields, data centers, railroads, and industry running.

Built on Fair Dealing Since 1963

Apollo Electric, Inc. was founded in Houston, Texas in 1963 by Bobby M. White, who left Sedco Drilling to start a business of his own. His philosophy was simple: do quality work, treat people fairly, and stand behind what you sell. His eldest son, Kerry L. White, joined the company in 1979 and became President in 1990. Today, Kerry and his son, Jason White, run the business together, bringing the third generation into the company. With that same simple attitude of treating customers fairly, Apollo has grown steadily and can boast of never having an unhappy customer.

A Warehouse Full of Hard-to-Find Equipment

What makes Apollo different is our inventory. Over six decades, we’ve built a large, specialized warehouse of obsolete and hard-to-find power equipment, including generator ends, engines, traction motors, and locomotive parts that are no longer made. When a customer needs a specialized generator end to match an older engine, or a discontinued part to keep a unit running, there’s a good chance we already have it. We carry around 200 AC generator ends at any time and one of the largest EMD inventories in the world.

What We Do

Apollo Electric is a full-service electric motor and generator shop, a generator set builder and unitizer, and a leading reseller of reconditioned equipment in the secondary market. We’re known as one of the most cost-effective traction motor remanufacturing shops on the Gulf Coast, and we work on all major brands.
We sell new surplus, used, and reconditioned generator sets, generator ends, engines, traction motors, transformers, and switchgear. We also buy used and non-running equipment, from single units to entire surplus inventories.

Today - Kerry and his son, Jason White, run Apollo together from a 51,000 sq ft facility serving customers across the U.S. and around the world.

A 51,000 sq ft Facility Built for Heavy Equipment

Our Houston facility handles skids up to 34 feet long and 120,000 lb, with overhead cranes and the equipment to load just about anything we buy or sell. Our electrical rebuild shop is one of the largest in Texas. In-house capabilities include a varnish dip tank and bake oven, a precision undercutter, IRD dynamic balancing, digital surge testing, and load testing up to 3,500 kW. Because everything happens under one roof, most rebuilds are completed in two to three weeks, and rush service is available.
